Urban Visions: Lou’s Laundromat

Lou’s Laundromat:  It was a very hot summer’s night, my top floor apartment did not have any air conditioning, and I couldn’t sleep; so I loaded up my film holders, grabbed my view camera and wandered the  streets around where I lived for some images.  From what I remember, and what my negative files prove; I didn’t achieve many good exposures at all, except this one:  “Lou’s Laundromat.” part of my growing series Urban Visions.

I’m pleased to announce this image is now available at Crated.com as a fine art print and printed on metal at Displate.com.  Visit the sites, like the image, and better yet buy the image for your walls. read more

Seed Silo

black and white photograph of a metal seed silo

One just has to select the right objects and fit them into the picture precisely, then they tell their own story all by themselves.

Industrial and mechanical subjects have always been a favorite of mine.  This image; Seed Silo, done in a classical style,  is from a series as of yet unworked images of a seed storage facility that I have photographed frequently over the past few years.  I expect to have this series of images along with other industrial/architectural images ready for sale early in 2016. read more

Chevy Hood Ornament

A closeup photographic image of a 1956, 1957 Chevy hood ornament.

Chevy Hood Ornament is the third image of my new car series; “Candy Coloured Collectibles,” and is now available at Fine Art America. Leave a comment, any comment and feel free to share this image with credit across the social media universe.

One of the issues of this car image was a perceivable banding in black of the Chevy hood.  Luckily, in Photoshop, you can prevent this banding by going to the Filter menu and choosing “Add Noise.”  When the pop up window appears; choose a amount between 2% and 3%, choose Gaussian for Distribution, and turn on the Monochromatic check box.  Click OK and a tiny amount of noise will be applied to eliminate the banding. read more
